Whisper to me softly,
breathe words upon my skin.
No one's near and listening.
So please, don't say goodbye
Just hold me close and love me
Press your lips to mine
Mmm...
Feels so right
Feel so wide
Lying here beside you
I hear the echoes of your sigh
Promise me you'll stay with me
And keep me warm tonight
Just hold me close and love me
Pressure lift to mine
Mmm, feels so right
Feels so right
You're loving me so easy
Your wish is my command
Just hold me close and love me
Tell me it won't en d
Mmm
Mm, mm, mm, mm, mm,
mm, so right.
Feels so right.
Well, ladies and gentlemen,
because of that song,
I got to build my wife,
who's sitting over here, a new home.
It's a very emotional thing for me.
Frances Preston called me from BMI,
and she said, Randy, you know,
you got a lot of money
up here at BMI.
I didn't even
know you could make money
from writing songs.
She said, you got a lot of money up here
that I could possibly advance you.
And I said, that's wonderful.
She said, what would you do with it
if I sent it to you?
You know, Frances.
And I said, well, I always dreamed
of building my wife a new house.
She said, what kind of house?
And I said, a really nice house.
She said, well,
you got enough money up here,
you could build a really nice house.
So she sent me that money,
I built that house,
and sitting out by the pool,
I got a call from a guy named well
I answered the phone and
said hello who is this
I said this is Randy
he said this is Conway Twitty
and he said I want to know about that song
you wrote called lady down on love
And I said, Conway,
that's going to be
Alabama's next single.
An d he said, I was afraid of that.
He said, because I was going to record it,
and it's going to be another number
one record for Conway.
So, I lost my chance to have
Conway cut one of my songs,
but right as he was saying goodbye,
and I don't remember a lot about it,
because I was so excited,
because he's one of my all -time heroes.
Y 'all remember who
Conway Twitty was?
Sure. Yeah.
Let's have a round of applause
for Conway Twitty.
And then he said, oh yeah,
I like that other song you wrote too called,
ah, feels so good.
And now then, to conclude this episode,
I want to show you what
really sold the record,
Oh, you feel so right, baby.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Randy Owen.
How about that, huh? Whoo! Whoo!
